Small Nice Quiet Town with 3* Restaurant

The Castle of Termes is located in the municipality of Termes in the French department of Aude. Today it is a ruin. It was a famous Cathar castle in the Corbières. The castle held out for months against the crusaders of Simon de Montfort.

Pretty village perched on the borders of Tursan and Béarn.

To the traveler in a hurry, crossing the Houga from the RD6 (Nogaro-Mont-de-Marsan) reveals a village-road, nothing more. Church - Le Houga Gers Town Hall. For the curious, the structure of the house and the site on a hill whose lines descend to the south and north, the brick tower-portico of the Saint-Pierre church and the rue du Prince Noir, partly inscribed on the route of the path of the bastion, reveal a closed village ... until the demolition of its last gate in 1775.

It was in 1732 that “a Royal earthenware factory” was established in the small town of Samadet, which produced earthenware with rich and colorful decorations for more than 100 years. The factory will employ a workforce with specialized know-how and its production will be widely distributed, notably through the port of Bayonne. But, in 1838, the Manufacture could not resist the competition and closed its doors. The museum, created in 1968 by the Earthenware Committee and given to the Department in 1998, preserves the memory of this epic; it tells the history of Samadet earthenware and that of tableware.
