The Wasserburg Abtei Thierfeld, also called Wal or Ehrlerinsel, is an abandoned moated castle in the north of Thierfeld in Saxony. It is also popularly known as "Ehrlerinsel" or "Wal" (a regional name for the medieval castle type Motte (tower hill castle)). The moated castle complex, which came into the possession of the existing Grünhain Cistercian monastery between 1230 and 1536, is located off the village street in upper Thierfeld.
