This circuit starting from the beautiful little village of Artigue, will take you directly to the Saunères cabin. All along the route, you will walk with a breathtaking view of the balconies of Luchonnais. You will also overlook the city of Luchon and it is not uncommon to share this beautiful circuit with mountain bike enthusiasts.

Ascent from Bourg-d'Oeuil for more ambitious hikers (+800 m uphill to the summit). Parking on the edge of the village near the three ski lifts.

The climb to Superbagnères was psychologically very difficult for me because it is covered by the valley and the trees that cover the road. It is a long climb, with very hard initial and final areas, and an intermediate area with some rest. My experience was very hard because of the intense heat and the long initial straights that the port has. The final part, in addition to being hard, is truly spectacular and the effort and suffering are worth it. The views from the ski resort are incredible!

There is a nice and calm cafeteria at the top with an elevated terrace. Its a super nice place for a coke/coffee with an amazing view.

This cabin, typical of the Pyrenean mountains, offers an ideal place to stop in the shade or to spend the night. It is installed on a balcony, allowing you to admire the Luchonnais chain. As for equipment, you will find a few pans and a wooden chest with blankets. Four or five people can easily sleep there: two beds with mattresses on the ground floor, plus three beds on the floor upstairs.

The Col d'Azet is a road mountain pass located at 1,585 meters above sea level. It allows you to go from the Aure valley to the Louron valley. It is one of the 34 passes connected by the famous pass road.
