This is a really large and really well-maintained ruin. The climb is short and sweet from Henneberg. There is also a path around the complex. It is definitely worth a walk

For German Heritage Day, Bibra Castle opened its doors to visitors. There were guided tours of the grounds with interesting facts, followed by coffee and cake... what more could you want?! Perhaps an overnight stay in the castle? No problem, there's room for 17 people.

In 1915, Reinhold Götz built a mountain garden that included terraced gardens and an artificial castle ruin. The garden is now somewhat overgrown and the castle ruins can only be reached with good shoes and a certain degree of surefootedness.

Elisabethenburg Palace is one of the absolute highlights in Meiningen. You'll need time to explore its many rooms and halls, with all their history, paintings, and stories. It's definitely worth a visit!
