The Blitzenreuter Lake District has been known as an ecologically valuable area for many years. As early as 1924, the central raised bog core and its non-peat-drained surroundings were protected as a protected forest. In 1937, other parts of the area were designated as a nature reserve (Dornacher Ried with Häckler Ried, Häcklerweiher and Buchsee). Very attractive even in winter.

Nice Upper Swabian town with a lake right next to the old town. Everything is very picturesque.

A visit is always worthwhile, the outdoor pool at the lake is also a good address for all age groups
