The ruins of the Herbouilly farm are a vestige of history. In June 1944, the farm served as a command post for Jean Prevost (Captain Goderville). On July 23, 1944, the Germans attacked Valchevrière. Jean Prévost and his men were forced to retreat, and the farm was destroyed by the Germans.

Personally, I don't really like going through this roundabout. Coming from St Niziers, you can turn left before, to go towards Villard.

Lans is a very pretty village in the Vercors, the resort is at Côte 2000, a little higher up. It's not necessarily the best starting point for a bike ride. We prefer Villard de Lans, which offers a multitude of routes.

A good wooded trail. Be careful if you take it uphill (from the road after the campsite), the start can be "discouraging". But once you get past the two small obstacles, everything's fine!
