beautiful hiking trail from the castle to the idyllic Charlottensee. But it could be that there is a lot going on here.

Biotope with water lilies

A cozy spot. A cool corner in the forest in summer. I wouldn't swim here though. :)

The Charlottensee was artificially created over 450 years ago and is now a nice place to linger.

Location and history: The Eichensee is located between Lobenrot and the municipality of Kernen in Remstal/Stetten, in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg. The exact location is 48° 46′ 21.65″ N, 9° 20′ 42.94″ E The Eichensee is not a natural lake and was created in 1985 on a voluntary basis with the support of the municipality of Kernen i.R. The body of water and its surroundings are an important habitat for wild animals and amphibians It is not one of the largest lakes in the Rems-Murr district, but it is one of the most beautiful and hidden. Unfortunately, the steep terrain does not allow you to walk around the entire lake. But there are plenty of places to sit and always new perspectives on the Eichensee. The lake is not a designated nature reserve, but there are numerous signs pointing out that nature should be left alone here. You shouldn't do anything here that could disturb the peace and quiet. That's why swimming is also prohibited there.

There is a great loop around the lake here. The path is wide and easy to walk.
