Unfortunately, the weather wasn't perfect, but the volcanic mountains of the Auvergne were in the background. I didn't need to drive on the poor roads next door to enjoy the view.

Whatever the weather conditions, it is always possible. However, as soon as the weather is nice, attendance increases!

The first slopes of the Massif Central offer a beautiful playground for mountain biking on a terrain that is neither too flat nor too steep. The views of the valley are delightful, like here where you can see Riom and Ménétrol.

Inaugurated in 1889, this Eiffel-type road bridge was recently restored with the addition of two separate lanes to make it safer for pedestrians/cyclists to cross the Allier River.

Near the Allier, this passage offers a bit of flatness in the middle of a hilly landscape. A pleasant place mixing woods and bodies of water.

Please note that Châteaugay is one of the five crus in the AOC Cotes d’Auvergne. The other crus are Boudes, Corent, Chanturgue and Madargue. The authorized grape varieties are; Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. To be consumed in moderation

Lots of development on the edge of Allier, tarmac path or wide stabilized track. But some playful and very nice singles survive!!!
