Very beautiful village in the heart of the Alpilles. It is worth exploring the small streets and admiring the church, the castle and the statue of the Virgin which dominates from the top of the rocky peak.

There are only a few ruins left of the Roman temple of Château-Bas, but those that persist are superb. In addition to the base walls, the Corinthian column and the pilaster arouse admiration.

André CHAUVIN is one of the first volunteers of CCFF La Fare Les Oliviers, created in 1980. He died in 2008 (around 80 years old) so the lookout was named in his honor. The track is wide and pleasant and takes the GR de Pays 2013. Vines and olive trees are cultivated on this southern slope.
