I am not sure if this bridge is Roman but it is very old and beautiful. It is the best way to cross the Jaranda Gorge when starting a route on foot or by bicycle.

Nice little place to rest. The storks are there regularly. Typical are the houses with the balconies and corridors below. It's not far from here to the Yuste Monastery.

The medieval or Roman bridge, as the Jarandillanos usually call it, is 35 meters long, has a huge eye with a semicircular arch and a smaller arch on one side that serves as a spillway when the Jaranda Gorge goes down with a lot of water, It sits on the enormous granite masses that are in the riverbed and has a half-meter petril with masonry ashlars.

You can bathe here and refresh yourself. There is also a bar open in the summer. The road after the bridge is a dirt road, I climbed it with my roadbike with full bikepacking gear, and didn't lose traction when the road was dry. After about 1-1.5 km, you will reach a paved road that you can take to the left to go to Cuacos de Yuste.

This is a beautiful town. There are fountains for drinking water (from Plaza de España, go to Calle de Entrefuentes, you will find a beautiful fountain under a fig tree perched on top of a rock). There are grocery stores that sell local produce, so also a good place to buy some food.
