Fantastic cafe. Brilliant food and friendly service. Just watch out for the closing time. 14.30 for food and it closes at 15.00 but well worth a visit on your walk.

Have to agree with others... plenty to see especially at the weekend & the Navigation pub is good for food & drink...

There's a coffee van in the car park here at the weekends now - good coffee, good cake.

A place of stunning beauty. Remember to be nice, say hi as you’re not there are crowds of hikers/cyclists as well. Oh and fall off the cliff 😉

The Sett Valley Trail, which also makes up part of the Pennine Bridleway, follows a former railway line over 2.5 miles (4km). It's a pleasant, gradual climb from New Mills to the picturesque village of Hayfield. This is a great off-road route for families and beginners, or as a link to access some of the longer routes through the Peak District.

All food is made to order, freshly prepared, and baked in-house. The team loves crafting wholesome specials, giving regular diners a chance to try something new. There’s a great selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for those with specific dietary needs. Every breakfast and baked treat is made with free-range eggs, and taste and quality are never compromised.

Path has been pretty badly torn up by flooding so watch your speed as you approach the bottom as there are some major gullies to navigate these days

The views are stunning

Amazing views, unreal sunsets, as mentioned above... also a great spot for cloud inversions when the conditions are right (so, a lot during winter months haha!)!

Absolutely iconic, I never tire of cycling past this jagged edge! It's much quieter than taking the main roads, but as there are a few car parks on this road, it's not a car-free route by any stretch. At peak times it can be busy, but cars are used to cyclists down here so there aren't usually issues.

Great views. The road surface is a bit rough - you can literally see the boundary between Derbyshire and South Yorkshire/Sheffield.

The Burbage valley is a lovely place to ride with far reaching views over the moors, it’s a place that isn’t difficult to ride due to its gentle gradient but in dryer conditions it’s quite fun at the bottom end as it has a flowing nature

Great smell of coffee awaits as you head down off the Lantern. At the bottom, turn left on the main road to get to this cafe, have a coffee, then continue just past and turn right through the wooden gate for the path to New Mills

Just be aware of opening times - 10am-3pm. I started a ride later than planned (mistakenly thinking it would be open until 5pm) and found it closed when I arrived at 3.30pm.

The high-voltage cables have now been laid through Tunnel 3.

Great way to cycle from Ladybower dam or Bamford to Hope and avoid the main road traffic. Quiet most of the time with the odd tractor, popular with hikers and cyclists. Wonderful views looking upto Shatton Moor.
