Fantastic cafe. Brilliant food and friendly service. Just watch out for the closing time. 14.30 for food and it closes at 15.00 but well worth a visit on your walk.

Lighting is turned off at dusk - "Do not enter if unlit"

very fast coming from Pym's chair. then is a leg sapping uphill for a few miles to the end.

Have to agree with others... plenty to see especially at the weekend & the Navigation pub is good for food & drink...

Great climb up through the woodland to Longstone edge for some big vistas. Plenty of choice to go for the gravel paths or stick the the road after.

Nice roads and view

The Sett Valley Trail, which also makes up part of the Pennine Bridleway, follows a former railway line over 2.5 miles (4km). It's a pleasant, gradual climb from New Mills to the picturesque village of Hayfield. This is a great off-road route for families and beginners, or as a link to access some of the longer routes through the Peak District.

Lovely climb up from the reservoir, quiet road with fabulous views.

Gorgeous in either direction, almost always traffic free. Has roadside campers most of the year round.

Great smell of coffee awaits as you head down off the Lantern. At the bottom, turn left on the main road to get to this cafe, have a coffee, then continue just past and turn right through the wooden gate for the path to New Mills

This is a nicely isolated route round the back of the Lantern with a great view ober Hayfield. Although it was remote and off road for the start, I finished with a road section from New Mills to Marple, which I don't recommend but haven't found a better route for this bit yet.

Just be aware of opening times - 10am-3pm. I started a ride later than planned (mistakenly thinking it would be open until 5pm) and found it closed when I arrived at 3.30pm.
