A nice gravel/ grass trail to ride until you reach the quarry side, where it can be technically challenging for both mountain bikes and gravel bikes - if you are on a road bike, you will probably be walking this bit!

Great viewing point across Dartmoor

We rode this trail on a bank holiday Monday and it was surprisingly quiet - well worth including!

The bridge provides lovely views along the valley.

A few lights in the tunnel brighten things up, but there are a few spots where visibility can be a little low.

At 564 metres (1,850 ft), Okement Hill is one of the higher points you can easily access on Northern Dartmoor. The MOD trails around this area allow good access to some of the higher rocky tors. Enjoy the amazing views northwest towards Yes Tor, southeast towards Hangingstone Hill and in all other directions across the moor.

This railway viaduct opened in 1871 and crosses the East Okement River. The railway line has recently been reopened, so you can catch a train now between Exeter and Okehampton.

Lovely track along through the trees and down to the river. Watch out for the gates and dog walkers and busy times.

A fantastic view point which can be admired from the bike or you can take a short detour onto a trail to visit more closely.

Proper stop on loops out to Brent Tor or Lydford. The nobbly top of this tor is visible across south Dartmoor, and the church on top is open from Easter Sunday for services.

Nice secluded section of route 27 where you drop sown slightly to the edge of the river Tavy, where a bridge takes you from one side to the other. A lovely spot for a rest or a snack listening to the peaceful movement of the river as it flows past.

A rocky, paved ford which passes through the East Okement River and the Black-a-ven Brook.
