10月 20, 2025, Rocks Lane Byway
Go west-east, much better, just a thrilling descent down to the Winford road. There is a section beforehand but it's straight off the main road with only a grassy verge to ride along to connect to Freeman's Lane, and no island to make the A38 less lethal.

6月 29, 2025, Mangotsfield Railway Station (Disused)
At a main crossroads of the Bristol - Bath cycle path, there is this. Mangotsfield railway station. It's now been taken over by nature & is utterly gorgeous! Opened in 1869, and lasting all the way to closing 100 years later, it had a really good run! It goes to show how quickly times were changing in the 19th & 20th centuries. What I love about it is that it's been left there. It's so surreal & beautiful. The platforms are obvious, a similar height to today, and there's a waiting room structure as well. It's all been reclaimed by nature in the last (almost) 50 years. If we allow nature the time and space; it will come back.

5月 2, 2025, Hover's Lane Bridleway and Ford
The ford is still pretty deep after a few months of little rain, and there's definitely a few puddles sticking around, probably wouldn't go through them on the basis of the farms all around. 💩

Super fast gravel linking to the main road at the top and bottom. Great way to link up byway to Land Yeo river crossing

Great place in the summer with a bridge that gives you 800 mm of handlebar clearance you can clear on a gravel bike but not so on modern MTB bars

9月 17, 2023, Wrington to Brockley Bridleway
Excellent link Wrington to Brockley fine on gravel bike but think it would be difficult in winter time. Lumpy but fun.

Nice link across to Broad Lane, I do this happily on my hybrid with robust tyres.

7月 10, 2023, Tyntesfield Fireroad
Tyntesfield asks cyclists to dismount when entering the estate and cycle racks are provided in the car park before entering the welcome building by foot. There is no cycling allowed through the estate, although children on balance bikes are welcome. There is a bridle path on part of the edge of the estate.

The locals call it the Yellow Brick Road - lovely bit of track with views to Wales

8月 13, 2022, Queen Charlton Byway
Don't attempt unless on a full suss MTB. Loose rocks the size of a child's head. Frankly calling this "intermediate" is dangerous.
