The old Ponale road was formerly the official road to Lake Ledro. It was built in the mid-19th century by blasting it into the rock. Until 1990, it served as the official road to Lake Ledro and Pregasina. After that, the new road tunnel was opened. Today, it is open only to cyclists and hikers and is one of the most beautiful routes.
