The bridge that crosses the Tanaro river with the town of Masio in the background. We are in a border area between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria and these are roads that I often travel and on which I feel very comfortable. The road in question is Provincial 247.

This is an important point especially for those who love off-road or gravel riding: opposite to what you see in the photo there is the entrance to Strada dei Boschi which is the official route of the Monsterrato and which leads to Vergani Nani and other classic locations of that race. Strada Bricco is the excellent alternative to avoid the SP456 if you want to go from Nice and Castelnuovo Calcea without too many risks. The view is wonderful between cultivated hills and country churches.

About 3 or 4 km long but very beautiful and fun to do. From the Provincial Road 27 Rocchetta/Cortiglione it arrives at the little church of Maria De Flexio just outside Rocchetta always.

A beautiful view of the town from the end of Strada Bricco/via Gavelli before the junction on the SP5 near the town. The bell tower of the church of Santo Stefano and what remains of the ancient fortress are clearly visible.

Strada Bricco is really important because within 5/6 km and even with a couple of small stretches it guarantees a relatively safe and peaceful passage from Nice to Castelnuovo Calcea. On the way there is also the beautiful little church of the Madonna della Neve. I highly recommend this road because it will save you the passage on the usual busy provincial 456 del Turchino.
