Panoramic terrace, worth a stop.

On one hand, it's a very nostalgic border crossing with former station buildings on the Slovenian and Italian sides. On the other, the border line is marked by a bike path and railway tracks. The fence in between, painted in the colors of Slovenia, serves not as a border fence, but as a protective barrier for cyclists and the railway.

A nearly perfect, very shady, paved bike path along and slightly above the Soca River, next to the single-track railway line. There are also many rest areas with tables and seating, as well as several clearings for admiring the emerald-green waters of the Soca.

From this bridge, you can enjoy excellent views of the Soca River and its emerald-green waters, as well as the Sabatino. Depending on the time of day, the Soca River displays stunning reflections.

The Piazza della Vittoria is strategically located as Gorizia's main square. Inviting restaurants have settled around the square. Excellently preserved and renovated buildings make the square a first-class gem.

This small wall and many other still-standing fences, walls, partitions, and railings are reminders of the Iron Curtain era. Unfortunately, the symbolism of the demolished wall has not yet completely removed the "Iron Curtain along the Italy/Slovenia border."

The square, with its wide-ranging symbolism and numerous memorabilia from the Iron Curtain era, has become a small landmark for both Gorizia and Nova Gorica. A certain sense of reverence is palpable even upon entering the square.
