On the bike path between Schiffdorf and Spaden, you'll find the lock. The Geeste River flows alongside it. A restaurant is located directly to the right of the bridge. A great bike path leads along the Geeste to Bremerhaven. Highly recommended 👍.

The Cuxhaven District Nature Conservation Foundation built a 300-meter-long boardwalk as barrier-free access to the partially newly created extensive wet meadows and ponds. With the help of a water scoop and an Archimedes' screw, water can be transported and life in and around the water can be experienced with all the senses. A very beautiful route 😀 we almost missed the location 😉. Turn right just after the bridge and the entrance is just around the corner 😜.

The 150-meter-long walkway is barrier-free and leads to several information stations. The Archimedes' screw and the water scoop allow water to be pumped upwards. The Beerster Wischen are one of the few barrier-free nature experiences in the region. There used to be a 300-meter-long circular boardwalk. After renovation, the walkway ends with a platform.

The 4th stage of the Lower Weser Trail also runs along here.
