Hodge Close Quarry is one of many slate workings in the Tiberthwaite Valley. It's a beautiful natural moment characterised by giant boulders and dense forest. On the other side of the quarry is a great singletrack.

From here you are afforded breathtaking views of the Coniston Fells. This mountain range features several notable peaks including Coniston Old Man, Wetherlam, and Dow Crag.

Great statue in the middle of grizdale

Grizdale has so much easy riding - good for kids/families or gravel bikes. Also easily links up some sections of great single track

The beginning of Coniston Water can be seen here. There are car parks, toilets, pubs and some small shops close to this area

Yewdale Crag is a very steep slope on the right side as you ride through, the angle of eyesight to see the top of the Crag is looking up considerably. It seemed to go slightly dark as I passed through, but that is the crag blocking the light out. Fun surface to ride on though

There are miles of these gravel tracks, they seem to be recently made or relaid. These keep you away from traffic on a twisty road which is up and down constsntly

In the middle of nowhere, Mr Fox statue. There is a crossroads junction with a viewing point at this location. 4x4 jeeps were parked here.

Grizedale Forest has many miles of double gravel tracks. These are good for families and riders wanting an easy trail or run out. The variation of surfaces in this area is good. Something for everyone.
