Beautiful lake, good for a short break

Beautiful area with a wooden lounger. The boulders are described. Some are quickly lost, overgrown with grass, which is a shame.

From the southeastern shore of Lake Malchow, there is an impressive view of the former Malchow Monastery, situated on a small hill on the opposite shore. The striking red brick buildings with their tall church towers dominate the town's panorama and, when the water is calm, are atmospherically reflected in the lake. The former Magdalene Convent, later a Cistercian monastery and finally a noble women's convent, is now an important cultural monument. The viewing point on the lakeshore is easily accessible via the cycling and hiking path and invites you to take a short rest with a view of the historic skyline of Old Malchow.

The York-Blücher Memorial commemorates the historic encounter between British General Sir Charles Cornwallis Yorke and Prussian Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher during the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon. This memorial stands near Silz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, an area closely linked to Blücher's history. The forest path in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide between Silz and Jabel runs separately from the parallel L205, which carries motor traffic. It is intended for hikers and cyclists and leads through a natural landscape of forest and heathland. The surface is predominantly forest soil and is unpaved, but still offers good rideability – even with luggage, if you use a suitable bike (e.g., a trekking or mountain bike). The route is varied and quiet, ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy nature and the landscape away from roads.
