One of the smallest communities in Switzerland owes its existence to the Bishop of Constance, Eberhard II. In 1251, he had a double-towered moated castle with a battlement built here. Today, only the two 33m high corner towers remain from the original castle complex. In 1837, the rest was significantly altered when it was converted into a palace. The palace is privately owned and unfortunately it is difficult to see through the trees.
