Great place to capture some photos of the River Taff. Scenic all year round

Always a good place to stop for refreshments. It’s a popular pub and can be busy at times.

Great steady cycle way, good for getting the kids out

The weir spans the River Taff, which flows directly through the heart of South Wales. It's a nice place to stop and refuel with picnic benches and a peaceful atmosphere.

The footbridge over the Taff here was built in the 1980s by Cardiff University in tandem with development of nearby student accommodation. Engineering students were involved in the bridge project.

Great viewpoint up and down the river and the weir. Cyclist's have to push!

Built in the 1980s by engineering students from Cardiff University, the suspension footbridge gives a well-used route across the River Taff between Bute Park and Pontcanna Fields.

The pretty Radyr Weir spans over the River Taff and is currently working as a hydropower scheme, providing energy locally. You may find wild salmon and sea trout near the weir, as well as cormorants and grey herons.

Craig Llysfaen, also known as Lisvane Graig, is a prominent hill of 265 m above sea level, overlooking Cardiff, some 7 miles north of the city centre.

Coed Craig Ruperra is what is known as a Planted Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS). These sites are classified as woods which were originally included on registers as far back as the 1600s, and which have been felled and replanted, usually with conifer, most often as a cash crop.  PAWS woodlands usually start out as Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland (ASNW), but their native trees have been replaced, usually by non-native conifers.

Built in 1626 by Sir Thomas Morgan, Steward to the Earl of Pembroke, it was one of the first of the 'mock' castles to be built in Wales.  In 2022 Cadw designated the castle gardens and park Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Great place to take a breather while climbing the hill

Path is narrow in paths and can get boggy in the winter months and after a heavy rain fall

to get past the gate, go through the bushes. OS maps have not been updated as the lakes are on private land, got told off for cycling around during the daytime.
