Perfect Gravel Roads

Nestled in the green woods of the province of Rieti, Lake Ventina is very small (its surface area is about 0.1 square kilometers) but very charming. It is located in the alluvial plain of the Conca Reatina and its maximum depth is 3.5 meters. It is possible to swim in it, but the lake is especially known for fishing.

Cycle friendly stop for a coffee and snack

Protected area which includes two small lakes located in the center of the Rieti basin. In the background the majestic Terminillo massif. They are ideal places for birdwatching and for peaceful excursions.

On the horizon, the Terminillo mountain group which, with its 2,217 m a.s.l. it is one of the most famous symbols of Sabina. Mountain much appreciated both in terms of skiing by the inhabitants of the surrounding areas and for the cycling routes it offers.

The Terria Castle or Palazzo Varano is the history resistance of the Da Varano dukes. The building dates back to the 15th century; its current appearance is due to a restructuring carried out in the nineteenth century by the architect Giuseppe Valadier, who built the artificial hill where it stands to protect it from the floods of the river.
