Nita Rosslyn was known in the 1930s as "the girl in red" or "the red rider" because of her striking scarlet outfit and matching red bicycle. The intrepid traveler set off from Manchester, England, in 1930 on a cycling tour across Great Britain. She then embarked on a world tour that took her to places including New Zealand and Australia. She financed her undertaking through over 5,000 performances as a singer and speaker.
