The cycle path here runs very close to the Gera River. In summer, it's wonderfully shady thanks to its tree-lined setting. The surface ranges from asphalt to gravel, but is easily manageable with any bike. Tip: A little further toward Ichtershausen, you can cycle directly from the cycle path to the edge of the Gera River.
