In 1787, the hall church with its eastern roof tower was built in the Neoclassical style on the site of a previous church. The pulpit altar in the east and the organ in the west, built by Carl Friedrich Poppe the Elder of Roda between 1798 and 1800, dominate the space. On the stucco ceiling, the Saxon coat of arms recalls the church's affiliation with the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg.
