At the southernmost point of the Günz Valley, at an elevation of 802 m above sea level, lies the source of the eastern Günz. After 39 km, the watercourse joins the western Günz near Lauben and then forms the actual Günz, which flows into the Danube after another 55 km near Günzburg.
