It is easy to cycle around the Kellersee. Outside of town, there are beautiful forest paths from Bad Malente to Fissau. From Sielbeck to Malente, the cycle paths are not quite as nice and are along the country road.

The Sehlendorfer Binnensee nature reserve is located in the municipality of Blekendorf Sehlendorf.
