Beautiful area and a great cycle path to experience it.

A stunning view from the head of the valley. Further up, there's a place to leave your bike and hike for two hours to the "Neue Fürther Hütte" (New Fürth Hut). Due to the snowfields, we could only hike a short distance uphill, but the view was well worth it. Hiking boots are essential! The hut's opening hours can be found online.

It wasn't easy to find the way to the Plattachsee. We crossed the mountain stream on a snowfield and at the end of the tour we read a sign saying "Do not cross snowfields, danger to life". Please do not try this, but pay attention to the signs first.

Beautifully situated mountain lake, surrounded by stunning mountains.

The Hintersee is beautifully situated in the valley floor against the impressive backdrop of a mountain range over 2700 m high in the west (with the Geißköpfe as well as the Geiering and Hochbirghöhe) and the almost three thousand meter high Tauernkogel (2,988 m) in the south. On the mountain slopes in the south you can see the Felberbach, which rushes down powerfully (with waterfalls) from the Plattachsee above. To the southeast you can see the steep mountain slopes over which the paths lead to and from the St. Pöltener Hütte. Benches on the meadows by the shore invite you to take a rest.
