ここでは水の音が聞こえます！Hochablassは中世後期からレヒ川を堰き止め、市内の運河に水を引いています。これは、手工業、商業、そして後の工業企業にとっての救済策でした。1346年に初めて文書に記録されたこの施設は、現在の場所で1552年に再建されました。現在の形になったのは、1912年の洪水の後、文化財に指定された鉄筋コンクリート構造物です。アウクスブルクの水管理システムの一部として、Hochablasseは2019年からユネスコ世界遺産に登録されています。

On the northern edge of Augsburg, the wide, parallel Lech Canal branches off towards Meitingen and only flows back into the riverbed after more than 20 kilometers. Along this Lech Canal are three power plants built between 1898 and 1922 (Gersthofen, Langweid, and Meitingen canal power plants).
