Great excursion for the whole family, starts at a forest car park with a barbecue and playground attached. The path is lined with ancient trees, a fountain, a monastery with a monastery garden, meadows with grazing cattle. It is not a strenuous path, even if it is always slightly uphill. The last stretch (approx. 100m) to St. Valentin is a little steeper, but can be mastered without any effort. The Langeckhütte is a refuge at around 785 meters above sea level on the west flank of the Kandel (1243m) on the old Kandelstraße and is located in the district of the town of Waldkirch.
