Düren station is located north of the center of Düren and is the largest station in the city and district of Düren. It lies at the intersection of the Cologne–Aachen high-speed line with the lines to Jülich, Heimbach, and Euskirchen, as well as the line from Neuss until 1996. The Aachen–Düren–Cologne railway line was one of the first railway lines in what is now North Rhine-Westphalia and opened in September 1841. With the advent of industrialization, the station, whose entrance building opened on April 15, 1874, gained increasing importance. Over the years, additional lines were built.
