Here you can cycle easily on good ground. However, there are also a few climbs to conquer.

Always along the creek, almost flat. In winter there was water everywhere, many small tributaries to the stream. Our hiking boots put up with a lot!

Cycle path in the Baartal The cycle path in the Baartal represents a scenic and attractive connection between the Seilersee and the Ruhrstausee. It runs parallel to the B 233 in the north-south axis of Iserlohn and connects the center with the districts of Iserlohner Heide, Kalthof and Hennen. The first separately managed section between the museum village of Barendorf and Kalthof with the connections to the city center and Seilersee was built in 1986 and had a significant significance for the promotion of cycling in Iserlohn. As a funding measure with federal and state funds, the second section between Mühlenstraße in Kalthof and Helle in the south of Hennen was completed in 2001. The third section (2006) created a direct connection to the Hennen district and thus a needs-based end point - also for everyday cycling. The cycle path in the Baartal has been part of the NRW cycle network since 2005 over a length of 11 kilometers and is also of supra-regional cycle tourism interest, especially since the long-distance cycle paths in the Ruhr Valley can be reached quickly from Hennen. To promote the cycle path, a folder was published in 2006 with financial support from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and was displayed in public buildings and in restaurants along the route. A fourth and final section to reach the Ruhr Valley directly is planned.

From the end of the town of Villigst to the rather unspectacular spring it is about 6 kilometers along the river. The path leads through the elongated valley. It is a good road, some of which runs near the creek and some further away. In at least three places, there are alternatively short paths directly on the stream. From a crossroads, the actual valley becomes somewhat pathless. The only options here are the cross-country route or the detour via Reingsen or east in the direction of the old post road (drive on).
