🌲 The Emsdetten Brook is a true highlight for nature lovers and one of the most important forest and nature reserves right on the doorstep of Emsdetten. Unlike many commercial forests, the Brook impresses with its high proportion of old beech and oak trees. It is a structurally diverse mixed forest, parts of which are left in a very natural state.

🛤️ The signalman's cottage "Post 44" is one of the most charming historical relics along the Münsterland Cycle Route. It is located on the section of track between Horstmar and Steinfurt-Burgsteinfurt (near the hamlet of Ostendorf) and bears witness to the time when trains on the Rheine–Coesfeld railway line still ran here.

🌳 The Steinfurt Bagno and its adjacent lake are the heart of recreation in Steinfurt. The park is a historic English landscape garden, laid out in the 18th century by the Counts of Bentheim and Steinfurt, and is now freely accessible around the clock.

🚴 The Deelberg Gorge is a special highlight on the Münsterland Cycle Route. It's located on the section between Horstmar and Laer (Steinfurt district). The passage is about one kilometer long. The high embankments on either side of the path create a cool, almost gorge-like microclimate that is particularly refreshing in summer.

🚲 Steinfurt is a true paradise for cyclists, boasting several prominent cycle streets and routes that are ideal for both everyday use and leisure. Nünningsweg: This is one of Steinfurt's most well-known cycle streets. It was established as a key thoroughfare where cyclists have priority and are permitted to ride side-by-side. There are current plans to extend this route by approximately 5 kilometers by 2027 (via Windhorst and Oranienring to Münsterstiege) to create a continuous connection towards Nordwalde and Altenberge.

There are circular routes of varying lengths, including the main circular route (approx. 2.9 km) and others that are also integrated into longer hiking and cycling tours.

Opposite the old town hall there is a small pizzeria for those with a small appetite.
