No summit with a view; in fact, without a map, you wouldn't even know that this is a separate mountain.

As a 'summit' rather unspectacular, but geographically interesting - worth doing.

The Großer Ehrenberg (Great Ehrenberg) lies in the southern Harz Mountains within the Southern Harz Nature Park. It rises approximately 2.5 km west of Rothesütte and about 3.5 km north-northwest of Sülzhayn, both of which belong to Ellrich. To the north, its landscape slopes down into the valley of the Großer Kunzenbach (Great Kunzenbach) and to the west into that of the Kleiner Kunzenbach (Little Kunzenbach), both of which flow along the border between Thuringia and Lower Saxony and form the Kunzenbach directly west of the mountain. The eastern spur of the mountain is the Dornkopf (579 m above sea level). To the north and west directly below the Großer Ehrenberg, the inner-German border formerly ran through the valleys of the Großer Kunzenbach and Kleiner Kunzenbach. However, the Iron Curtain, including the patrol road, ran directly over the summit. Two operational border checkpoints were also located here.

The Stöberhai, which is 731 meters high, is a bit of a challenge.
