The white round steel tower with gallery and red lantern with a tapered dome stands on the western pier of Ueckermünde, on the Szczecin Lagoon. The tower has a diameter of two meters and is decorated with the coat of arms of Ueckermünde on the east side. It is the easternmost German lighthouse. The current lighthouse was built by the company VNT Stahlbau GmbH in Abtshagen and erected on December 13/14, 2000.

The Ucker rises in the far north of the Ringenwalde district of the Temmen-Ringenwalde municipality at a height of just over 57 meters above sea level and flows east before turning north after 1.5 km and flowing into the Grosser Krinertsee after a few hundred meters. Passing Torgelow and Eggesin (where the Randow flows into it on the right), the river continues to Ueckermünde and flows into the western part of the Szczecin Lagoon (Oder Lagoon) called Kleines Haff in this easternmost German port city, which is connected to the Baltic Sea.
