There is a retractable bridge at each end of the canal. The more famous and newer one is located in Isthmia; the other connects Corinth with Loutraki and is in poor condition. @Panos, as someone who had that kind of accident at the sister bridge on the west side, i strongly recommend everybody to unmount their bike and walk it across.

Warning! DO NOT try to cross the bridge on a road bike!!! The gaps among the wood slabs are wide enough for a road wheel to fall through. A friend of mine had a nasty accident. Go for a hike-a-bike.

The Corinth Canal is so impressive with its narrow passage and steep slopes. You can take good photos from the bridge. The new visitor center has information in various languages. Bungee jumps are also possible from the bridge.

Update 24 June 2024: No idea for how long, but the bridge is temporarily closed:/… They probably just want to promote the new highway A8/make some money with the tolls🙄 so I hope that means it won’t be closed for that long.

It's a unique way to see the canal

If you want to visit the light house up close keep in mind that the path is not well paved (rocks and stuff). Had to carry my bike to that point. Also there are no protective bars to keep you from falling. The place is spectacular!

Easy Cycling Way By The Sea, The Amazing Corinthian Gulf

One of the few real bike trails in this town, the waterfront trail overlooks the bay and passes some remnants of the ancient harbor walls and the iconic statue of the Greek god of the sea.

A beautiful place to relax after a long ride (If you start from Athens or even Eleusis or Megara). A chance to get really close to the huge ships that cross the Corinthian channel while you enjoy your drink at the nearby cafes.
