Beautiful cycle paths and great views of the newly created lake landscape. Welzow, a mining town, is also worth a visit. The local Kumpelklause has excellent food and friendly service.

"The newly built city harbor, inaugurated in 2019, is the gateway to the Großräschener See, which was created by flooding the Meuro open-cast mine. Until the lake is opened up and the harbor can be used, it offers an interesting destination for walks and excursions. The toilets in the harbor facility can be used for a fee. There is a barrier-free toilet for guests who rely on wheelchairs. The Haus VIER restaurant and the Seebistro on the IBA terraces are located near the city harbor. The lake is still being flooded, so there are no boats on the lake yet and the moorings are empty. The lake will probably be full by the end of 2024, and life will move in here in 2025. But it's great for cycling around, as everything else is finished and there are also restaurants.
