A Jewish community existed in Diersburg from 1738. At the end of the 19th century, it had 190 members. It was extinguished in 1940 with the deportation of the community's last Jewish citizens. It had a synagogue, a Jewish school, and a ritual bath (mikveh). The Diersburg Jewish cemetery was established in 1773. In 1827, the Jewish community came under the jurisdiction of the Schmieheim District Rabbinate, whose headquarters were relocated to Offenburg in 1893. The war memorial for the fallen of the First World War, located opposite the Catholic church, also lists the Jewish dead: Emil Bruchsaler, Julius Kahn, Ferdinand Lehmann, and Louis Ludwig Meier.
