Beautiful and impressive old church!

Not just great to look at, but also very useful to smoothly cross the river!

This church, built in the Neo-Baroque style, dates from 1907 to 1908. The interior impresses with its rich furnishings, characterized by the abundance of Baroque forms. The high altar, crafted from marbled wood around 1750, is particularly noteworthy, its vibrant colors and intricate details immediately drawing the eye. It is complemented by the St. Joseph altar and the Virgin Mary altar, both dating from 1711. An intricately crafted, three-part confessional from 1710 to 1720 testifies to the craftsmanship and spiritual practices of centuries past. The organ, built in 1974, continues to fill the church with sound: with 16 stops and 1,240 pipes, it produces both powerful and delicate tones. Four bells hang in the tower, erected in 1961, their sound carrying far beyond the rooftops.

The church fountain, dating from 1790, stands near the Protestant church in Neckarsteinach and is one of the historic gems of the old town. With its simple sandstone basin and neoclassical form, it recalls the water supply of bygone times.

The Sacred Heart Church in Neckarsteinach was built in 1908 in the neo-Baroque style 🕍. Inside, you'll find Baroque altars, a historic pulpit, and a restored organ—a quiet place of worship in the heart of this four-castle town 🙏.

Along the Neckar River near Neckarsteinach, four castles lie exceptionally close to one another—a true gem for history and nature lovers. These four castles are wonderfully explored on a hike along the Neckarsteig Trail. From here, you have a particularly magnificent view of three of the four castles (the Swallow's Nest is not visible from here).
