This legendary place lies between gnarled trees and jagged rocks – with a simple wooden sign, yet a mystical aura. The name "Witches' Dance Ground" lends the scene a very unique atmosphere, which is particularly intense in the frosty winter. A quiet, slightly eerie place with a sense of historical magic. 💡 Tip 🔮 Stand for a moment in the middle of the square – history can almost be felt in the quiet snow.

The Idarkopf offers excellent panoramic views over the surrounding Hunsrück heights. The new Idarkopf tower, a hybrid construction made of wood and hot-dip galvanized steel, was opened in December 2022 after the previous wooden tower, which was damaged by fire in 2018, was demolished in February 2022.

Place in front of a rock wall. There are also witches' dance places elsewhere, for example in the Harz and near Annweiler.

The observation tower on the Idarkopf mountain in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, located in the EdelSteinLand region, offers breathtaking panoramic views from its height of over 30 meters. The new observation tower is a real eye-catcher. The platform is modeled on a bird's nest. 170 steps lead up. Those who are not afraid of heights will be rewarded with a great 360° panorama.

December 2022 After the old one burned down and had to be demolished, the Idarkopf (746 meters) now has a new observation tower. A steel staircase with 170 steps and 9 resting platforms leads to the viewing platform of the 31.1-meter-high tower. From this new highlight in the EdelSteinLand region, visitors can expect breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

There are two medieval neck moats on the Wildenburger Kopf, which effectively cut through the plateau. This is where the Hexentanzplatz is located. The name comes from the vernacular. Certainly or probably this has its origin in old cults from the Middle Ages.
