Small but nice! The museum is also worth a visit.

After repeatedly pledging it to the Waldsassen monastery, it was finally sold to the monastery in 1515. After secularization, the castle became private property in 1803. In 1820 the market town of Neuhaus acquired the facility.

The mighty butter churn tower towers above the castle, which was probably planned as a hunting lodge and built around 1300.

Before the Waldnaabtal Museum moved into the walls of Neuhaus Castle, this historic place had a long history behind it. The castle was built in 1300 as a hunting lodge. In 1515 it was sold to the Waldsassen monastery and after secularization it became the property of the market town of Neuhaus. Luckily, the castle was spared war damage, so you can visit the magnificent museum there today.

Dießfurt is located in the Haidenaab valley, the district of Pressath is surrounded by numerous ponds and has some sights to offer, e.g. the castle, the gate or the recreational lake. The hammer lock is very beautiful, it is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside. The castle, built in the 16th century, is a beautiful and popular photo opportunity.

Nice area, unfortunately the tower is only possible on Sundays and public holidays. The relatively free-standing so-called butter barrel tower of Neuhaus Castle is really worth seeing. Due to the construction with a massive substructure and narrow superstructure, it is reminiscent of a butter churn and probably even had a third structure in the past.
