Berching is a beautiful little town with picturesque paths, lovingly restored houses, churches, and cozy little squares—definitely a lovely stopover by bike or on foot. We enjoyed a delicious meal and sat in the sun at the Brauereigasthof Winkler. The service was very friendly!

Berching, the gateway to the Altmühltal Nature Park, is located on the banks of the Main-Danube Canal and the historic Ludwig-Donau-Main Canal. Since 1992, Berching has been located directly on the Main-Danube Canal, the major European waterway that connects the North Sea with the Black Sea.
