Atzelsberg Castle boasts beautifully maintained grounds, and there's an inn with a lovely beer garden next door. It's located directly on the hiking trail and has a parking lot, making it a great starting point for hikes.

Definitely preferable to the cycle path along the main road! In the further course you can then drive to the city center of Erlangen (almost) without a car escort!

Nice little castle with an atmospheric garden to stroll through: on the left side, next to the statue, there is a passage down into the garden with rustic mossy stones and individual works of art as well as old trees and ferns.

Well worth a visit in any case. Well maintained. With over 300 years of history. Rebuilt in its current form from 1705 after being destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. In 1961 the castle was bought by the city of Erlangen and extensively renovated. It was sold privately in 2004 to save money, but with the condition that it be opened to the public. The new owner completely renovated the castle and the complex by 2013.

nice area with play facilities for children, barbecues or games. Further away, natural water areas with reed banks and water birds.
