Beautiful forest path along ingenious moss-covered rocks

The Eckstein is a 1073m high peak on the Hoher Bogen. From the seating area you have a wonderful view, there is a summit cross with a commemorative plaque, which is somewhat hidden, and some foundations of the former military installations can still be found.

Visible from afar, the former NATO towers are the landmark of the Hohen Bogen ridge. The Reconnaissance Towers, a NATO communications sector F listening post, are located on the Black Bar. Since 2014, you can climb the viewing platform over 262 steps for 6 euros and enjoy the wonderful view of the Bavarian Forest. The Blaibacher See has been a reservoir on the Schwarzer Regen between Viechtach and Cham since October 1964 with a water surface of around 47 hectares. The Pulling power plant, named after the nearby Blaibach district of Pulling, is located at the barrage built between 1962 and 1964.
