Germany's highest observation deck rises a proud 246 meters into the sky above Baden-Württemberg. Opened in 2017, Rottweil's new landmark has found a perfect spot in the Berner Feld industrial area – eye to eye and in silent harmony with the medieval church and fortified towers of the historic old town. The architect duo Helmut Jahn and Werner Sobek wrapped the upward-winding concrete spiral in a fiberglass fabric that bathes the tower in ever-changing light reflections depending on the time of day, year, and weather conditions, creating astonishing visual effects. The glass-enclosed panoramic elevator takes you up to the visitor level – Germany's highest observation deck – in just 30 seconds. From up here, you'll enjoy a fabulous view of the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb; on a clear day, you can even see the Alps.

The test tower is certainly a highlight in its own right, which can be visited if possible

A beautiful old town that has not been over-restored, but you can tell that people live there. It is well worth walking through the alleys.

The Rottweil elevator tower can be seen from many places.

Coming from the mouth, the Schlichemtal is a wonderful valley to walk through. The path is very varied. The “finale” and also the highlight is of course the section in the gorge.

The beautiful bridges, including the Neckar, a few photos and the stop was worth it.
