The view of Mölln from the Elbe-Lübeck Canal isn't particularly impressive, as the canal doesn't run directly through Mölln's town center. Nevertheless, it's a nice place to take a short break at the lake's edge and enjoy the view of the lake and the towers of Mölln's old town in the background.

The Schaalsee is nestled within the biosphere reserve of the same name and, at over 70 meters deep, is considered Northern Germany's deepest clearwater lake. Those who wish to swim here should only do so at designated areas—for example, in Dargow, Lassahn, Seedorf, or at the Zarrentin lido. The water quality is excellent, perfect for a refreshing dip on the go.
