In contrast to some other castle ruins, only a small remnant of the wall remains.

If you are in the area, you should definitely pay a visit to the Wartstein ruins. You have a wonderful view of the Lautertal and, in good weather, a distant view of the mountains. However, the viewing platform on the ruins can only be reached via a spiral staircase that is attached to the outside of the wall. This is possibly not for someone who is not free from giddiness or who has problems with spiral staircases.

There is a castle tavern in the castle complex. This is hosted by the Albverein (see website for opening times). There is also the possibility to stay overnight in the castle. There is no parking space at the castle. A few meters away is the Breitle playground, where you can park your car.
