The cave is under video surveillance and accessible. You can get pretty deep inside. Don't forget your flashlight. Very pleasant in hot temperatures.

Wildly romantic section from the Bärental cave to the Bärental refuge. The elevation gain is repeatedly achieved via stone steps. You should be a little careful along the entire section when it is wet (danger of slipping⚠). In some sections the vegetation was very thick.

I personally really liked the Gerber Caves 🤗👍🏻. The ascent initially went through a scree field. The mountain hiking trail was very varied. Shortly before the cave there were a few more stairs to climb. It was steep at times. Good, sturdy footwear is recommended. If you want to explore the cave, don't forget a flashlight. However, the cave is closed in the winter months for the bats to hibernate.
