Great cycle path that really invites you to ride.

A beautiful castle, picturesquely situated in a park-like setting and surrounded by moats, which gives it the name "water castle". It is a Renaissance building, built in the 16th century. The architecture of the castle as well as the surrounding landscape make it a popular destination for visitors interested in history and architecture.

The section of the route between Velden and Moosen is very well developed and also very flat. If you want, you can go very quickly here. The only thing that slows you down a little are the crossing roads, as cyclists always have to give way. There is also an intersection near Oberbabing that slows down bicycle traffic by putting up barriers/chicanes...

As a reminder of the former railway line that used to run past here, there is a locomotive and a signal here. Unfortunately, the locomotive is not in very good condition on the outside. There is a table next door that invites you to linger.

The former Dorfen-Welden railway line today corresponds to the course of the Vilstal cycle path.

In 1996 the locomotive was sold together with the Ka 4909 and the Ka 4979 to the BEM - Bavarian Railway Museum in Nördlingen. In June 2000, the village beautification association took over the small locomotive from the BEM.
